Koko isn"t the only one who has difficulty reading Penny"s handwriting. We are looking for the latest technology in computer handwriting recognition so that we can digitally archive 3 decades of research diary notes from Penny and other gorilla caregivers into our new multi-disciplilnary database. PS: Notice that Koko is reading the diary upside down. She often does this, as when she was young she was usually read to by caregivers sitting opposite her. So she had to learn to follow the text upside down. Some children actually learn to read this way.
