Because of our intent to keep Koko (and Ndume) happy and healthy while in captivity, the gorillas" food preparation is a serious business, and sometimes becomes a bit of an art form.

Here Koko begins to approach a "fruit basket" carved from a watermelon, and containing a beautiful selection of assorted fruit pieces and flower petals.

Give our compliments to the Produce Team - a group of dedicated volunteers led by Produce Coordinator Rebecca Marsh and "Gourmet Relief Cook" Susan Lutter. (This particular fruit creation was made by volunteer Arielle Johnson.)
