Dr. Penny Patterson looks into Koko"s mouth with a flashlight to examine her gums (recall that she had some dental work done last summer).

Thank goodness that Koko learned sign language (from Penny) long ago, as it enables her to communicate exactly how she feels, what she needs, and when she needs it.

And thank you all for the support that enables us to take the best possible care of Koko and Ndume, and for them to be ambassadors for the welfare of their entire species.
